The first wheelwash on Shetland
Not only a first for the Shetland Islands, but also for Wheelwash.
After a 3 day journey from Crewe to Shetland the Rhino equipment was
warmly welcomed and safely installed by our engineer.
Standing up to extreme weather
Shetland stone is much sought after and is quarried on the island by Hanson Aggregates.
Environmental protection is taken seriously and Hanson Aggregates were
satisfied that Rhino would meet their stringent technical, operational
and budget specifications. This included the application of specialist
paint to cope with extreme weather conditions.
Fame at last Rhino caused quite a stir - even capturing the media attention when our engineer was interviewed by BBC Radio Scotland.
Rhino down under Australia takes environmental protection very seriously - which is why the Rhino is so popular.
One
of Australia's largest civil engineering and construction groups,
Leighton Contractors, is using the Rhino at their site in Stanwell,
near Rockhampton in North Queensland.
$1.3 billion Magnesium Mine
Leighton is establishing a new magnesium mine for the Australian
Magnesium Corporation, a huge contract. When completed, the mine will
be one of the world's largest magnesium plants with an output of nearly
100,000 tonnes per annum.
Heathrow Terminal 5 Development
BAA's vision is to make Heathrow's Terminal 5 one of the world's most
exciting airport terminals - visually attractive, easy to get to and
through, comfortable and accessible for all types of passengers.
Into the future
After the UK's longest ever planning inquiry lasting 3 years and 10
months the Government announced its decision to approve the building of
T5, thus allowing London Heathrow to maintain its position as Europe's
leading international hub airport and provide much needed
state-of-the-art facilities that meet future demands to fly.
Committed to designing and building T5 in accordance with the principle
of sustainable development, part of BAA's strategy was consultation
with stakeholders on environmental, social and economic issues and
ensuring effective protection of the environment.
